After
the Congress,
'The
First International Congress of Central Asia Infectious
Diseases' was held on 30
October – 2 November in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Before the
congress, Turkish Embassy gave a reception for
participant and congress lecturers from all over the
world and to celebrate Turkish Republic Day on 29
October. Turkish Ambassador, Serpil Akman, emphasized
that cooperation in scientific and cultural activities
between two countries plays an important role at the
reception.
At the
opening of the congress, Turkish and Kyrgyz national
anthems was played on 30 October. Vice Minister of
Health Professor Karataev, Turkish Ambassador Serpil
Akman, Rector of Kyrgyz Medical Academy Professor
Adembekov and Prof. Dr. Hakan Leblebicioğlu gave speech
at the opening.
The
congress has been a great success with 350 participants
from 17 countries and 85 Turkish participants. Language
of the congress was English and Russian with translation
between two languages simultaneously. 74 invited
lecturers/chairman from 11 countries participated to the
congress. 3 symposiums, 7 panels, 2 round tables, 4
special sessions take placed 24 oral and 188 poster
submissions were presented.
The
congress was a regional forum for the doctors in this
geography. Infection diseases related problems of the
region were discussed and solutions were suggested. The
importance of collaboration between countries was
underlined.
The venue
of second congress which is held in the next year was
decided as Alma Ata, Kazakhstan.
